What Street Shelf is

Street Shelf (garfieldunited.net) is an independent web tool, made and run by WeldonPC, that keeps a list of things neighbors are willing to lend each other and a record of who has borrowed what. It is not a City of Garfield Heights, school or council service, and it is not affiliated with Garfield United (Garfield, NJ).

Lending is between neighbors

Every loan is an arrangement between the two neighbors. Street Shelf does not own, inspect, insure, deliver, guarantee or recover anything listed, and is not responsible for loss, damage or injury from anything lent or borrowed. Lend only what you own and are happy to lend; borrow only what you know how to use safely. Agree before the handoff what happens if something breaks.

Things only, never money

No renting, selling, deposits or fees between neighbors on Street Shelf. Listings that ask for payment may be removed by the shelf keeper.

Not on the shelf

Never list firearms or ammunition, medicines or prescriptions, alcohol, cannabis or vapes, or fireworks. Listings that name them are refused (tool guns such as glue, heat or nail guns, and gear such as wine glasses, are fine). Use common sense for anything else that needs a licence, training or safety check.

Links and keepers

Your private link is your key: anyone who has it can act as you on that shelf. Keep it to yourself. Anyone with a shelf's code can see the shelf and join it. The keeper can rename the shelf, issue a new code, remove a neighbor (with their things and asks) and delete the shelf. Shelves nobody opens for 365 days are deleted.

Prices

Street Pass $1.95 a month or $19.50 a year per shelf, or a Block Week for $1.00: free during preview. Checkout opens when PayPal is connected to this site. Nothing is charged and there is no payment form on this site. When it opens, Street Pass renews until cancelled and can be cancelled any time (it runs to the end of the period paid); Block Week is one payment and never renews.

Fair use

No harassment, spam or listings that are not real things. Daily limits per address keep the site running for everyone. We may remove content or shelves that break these terms.
